Joanna Denny is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern with a deep commitment to helping people navigate life’s ups and downs — whether that means working through anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, healing from trauma, or finding direction when life feels stuck. As a military spouse of over 20 years and a mom, she truly understands the stress and transitions that come with constant change and brings genuine empathy and understanding to every session.
She draws from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), creating a safe, judgment-free space where individuals, couples, and families can explore challenges, build coping skills, and take meaningful steps toward growth and healing.
Joanna will also be pursuing certification in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to better support clients in processing and overcoming trauma. In addition, she enjoys working with athletes on mental health readiness, helping them strengthen focus, resilience, and emotional well-being both on and off the field.
Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University Central Texas.
She received her Masters in Counseling Degree from Letourneau University and music therapy training through GSUS Music Therapy Services and Center.
